The wind in the heartland of Central Asia brushes over the Ustyurt Plateau, and the underground energy code is being deciphered. With the roar of drilling rigs breaking the silence of the Gobi Desert, China Ukraine energy cooperation has opened a new chapter -30 deep wells are advancing synchronously, using Chinese drilling technology to tap deep into the geological layers, and jointly painting a practical picture of resource development between the two countries.

Recently, the Ustyurt key energy project in Uzbekistan has made significant progress. A special meeting was held for the exploration project of 30 deep wells in cooperation between Uzbekistan Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation and China Petroleum Western Drilling to implement construction, equipment, and support plans. The project has entered the comprehensive implementation stage.

Determine key construction milestones

The responsible persons of both parties jointly chaired a special meeting to finalize the stage construction plan and core nodes. The first exploration well in the Kizilezhar oilfield has been drilled, providing important basis for subsequent construction and geological analysis. The project involves the construction of 30 deep wells in batches, achieving synchronous exploration of multiple points in the block. The project is equipped with 9 drilling platforms and professional teams to ensure parallel operations of multiple wells. Both parties have completed all necessary connections and cleared the obstacles in the early stages of construction.

Clarify the project cooperation mode

The project adopts the internationally recognized EPC service contract model, with clear rights and responsibilities. The Chinese side is responsible for drilling construction, technical management, and equipment operation and maintenance; The Ukrainian side holds all resource rights and interests in the blocks, oil wells, and oil and gas reserves. The Ukrainian side proposed the goal of speeding up, relying on China's technological advantages to optimize processes, striving to shorten the single well construction period by 50 days, and accelerate the exploration of oil and gas reserves. Expand long-term cooperation prospects

The Ustyurt Plateau has outstanding potential for oil and gas resources. The project leverages Chinese exploration technology to improve exploration efficiency, help Uzbekistan enhance its oil and gas self-sufficiency, and deepen practical energy cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. Both parties also discussed the feasibility of adding new exploration wells and expanding project capacity to create conditions for expanding the scale of cooperation.Editor/Gong Ziwei
