A commercial vehicle loaded onto a ship from Incheon Port, South Korea, is transported by sea to Yantai Port. It then travels westward along the Longhai Line by railway and arrives at Kashgar North Station three days later. The vehicle is then transported by customs supervised trailer from Irkeshtam Port to Kyrgyzstan - the entire journey takes only 12 days, which is 5 days shorter than the traditional mode.

This journey, spanning three modes of transportation including sea, rail, and public transportation, is the daily routine of the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan multimodal transport train. Since its opening in 2022, this channel has operated over 1500 trains and transported a total of 1.7841 million tons of goods. The transportation category has expanded from over 30 types to more than 300 types, including new energy vehicles and mechanical parts.

One shot system running acceleration

On July 27, 2026, the first cross-border sea rail public multimodal transport single unit train in China successfully completed the seamless transition between railway and highway in Kashgar. After the goods are shipped by sea from Incheon, South Korea to Yantai Port, they will be transported directly to Kashgar by railway and then exit through the Irkeshtam Port via connecting road. Since 2026, the railway department has continued to play a supporting role as the hub node of Kashgar in southern Xinjiang, strengthening the efficient connection of various transportation modes, and promoting the expansion and renovation of Kashgar North Station. At present, the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan multimodal transport trains have gradually achieved normalized operation, covering 12 provinces and cities.

The Zhongjiwu Grand Passage is taking shape

The China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan intermodal transportation channel is a multimodal logistics artery that passes through China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. According to the General Manager of Kyrgyzstan National Railway Company, the 304 kilometer section of the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Railway in Kyrgyzstan has been fully constructed, and the progress is even slightly ahead of schedule.
