In the conference room of Alatau City, the beam of light from the projector is fixed on a map of the industrial chain. On one end of the map are golden oil crops, while on the other end are high-value products such as aviation fuel, starch, amino acids, etc. This picture is a microcosm of Kazakhstan's attempt to break through the dilemma of exporting primary agricultural products.

In recent years, this Central Asian country is no longer satisfied with simply exporting raw grains and oilseeds. How to transform the harvest from the fields into higher value industrial products has become a top priority for the government's work. At a recent government meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sudanov outlined a clear industrial blueprint: not only to hold onto traditional markets, but also to tap into distant overseas high-end markets.

Transforming oil into aviation fuel

Alatau City is closely collaborating with China's Fu Sheng Capital to jointly research and construct an aviation biofuel production system using oil crops as raw materials. This is not a single energy project, but a complete deep processing chain. After the project is completed, in addition to producing green aviation fuel, it will also simultaneously produce by-products such as starch, gluten powder, feed additives, and amino acids, greatly extending the length of the agricultural industry chain.

Corn deeply added to the ground

At the same time, another Chinese agricultural giant, Fufeng Group, has moved even faster. The corn deep processing project planned to be built in Jiangbu'er Prefecture has been listed as a key supervision target. To ensure the smooth launch of this major project this year, relevant departments are making every effort to streamline the approval and supporting processes, striving to quickly transform Kazakhstan's corn resources into market competitiveness.

Multiple blooming industries

In fact, the above two projects are just the tip of the iceberg in Kazakhstan's agricultural transformation. At present, there are six large-scale deep processing projects steadily progressing in the country. With the addition of the Alatau new project and the continuous injection of Chinese capital, Kazakhstan is gradually building a modern industrial cluster covering bioenergy, food additives, and feed processing, opening up broader channels for agricultural product exports.Editor/Yang Meiling
