The scorching sun in the vast Gobi Desert, the surface temperature rising steadily, and the thousand ton crawler crane with aurora green standing tall in the wilderness. Accompanied by mechanical operation, the giant impeller slowly rises and steadily approaches the cabin at an altitude of 122 meters. The key first lift of the Gansu Jinta million kilowatt wind power project has been completed, and domestically produced heavy machinery has faced the scorching heat of the Gobi Desert, delivering high-quality lifting results.

Facing the Gobi Desert in the scorching summer
The Gansu Jinta 1 million kilowatt wind power project is located on Jinta North Mountain in Jiuquan, and is a key project in Gansu in 2026. It plans to install 140 wind turbines. This time, the 8.35MW unit of Dongfang Electric was lifted, with a hub height of 122 meters and an impeller diameter of 222 meters. The project selected Zoomlion 1000 ton crawler crane to undertake the main lifting task. During the summer season, the surface temperature of the Gobi Desert approaches 50 ℃, which tests the performance of equipment and the condition of construction personnel. Adjust the work schedule for the project, avoid the scorching noon heat, assign a dedicated person to closely monitor changes in wind speed, and seize favorable work windows to ensure the progress of construction.

Overcoming lifting difficulties
This construction abandons the traditional single blade lifting and adopts a more difficult impeller overall lifting process. After the impeller is assembled on the ground, it is lifted and docked with the high-altitude engine room in one go. Strong winds can easily cause the impeller to shake, and strict requirements are placed on the equipment's micro motion control ability. Relying on the stable handling performance of the Zoomlion crane and efficient collaboration with the on-site team, the impeller achieves precise high-altitude alignment, completing the lifting operation in one go and successfully solving the construction difficulties of high-altitude docking of the wind turbine. Empowering dual carbon construction
The successful completion of the first lift is a practical test of domestically produced large-scale lifting equipment under extreme working conditions in the Gobi Desert. At present, the Jinta wind power project has entered the comprehensive construction stage. Subsequently, Zoomlion will continue to export mature lifting technology and large-scale engineering equipment to support the construction of a 10 million kilowatt wind power base in Northwest China and help steadily advance the national dual carbon goals.Editor/Min Jing
