At the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, the once locked national gate slowly opened due to border disputes. When the boundary marker between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is no longer a symbol of estrangement, but a starting point for communication, a new land corridor spanning Europe and Asia is breaking through the geographical ice and roaring towards us.

Resolve disputes and form alliances

The hinterland of the Eurasian continent is undergoing profound geopolitical changes, and the internal pattern adjustment in Central Asia is rewriting the direction of local borders, trade, and energy development. Recently, the President of Uzbekistan visited Kyrgyzstan and signed the "Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Alliance Relations Treaty", ending the long-standing border dispute between the two countries and completely resolving all border disputes. Upgrade bilateral relations to close neighbors, strategic partners, and alliances, establish the Supreme Cooperation Council, and establish institutionalized cooperation mechanisms. This settlement sets a model for dialogue among Central Asian countries to eliminate conflicts. With the expansion of ports, visa exemptions, and the gradual implementation of major infrastructure projects, a new open and connected Central Asia is accelerating its formation.

Relaxation of policies and acceleration of circulation

Outside of the political alliance, a number of pragmatic measures have been taken to remove obstacles to development. The number of border ports between the two countries has increased from 15 to 30, greatly improving cross-border logistics and border trade conditions, which is beneficial for cross-border e-commerce and short distance freight transportation. Implement 15 day visa exemption for citizens to facilitate the travel of business, tourism, and labor personnel. Kyrgyzstan will also establish a consulate general in Uzbekistan to handle cross-border commercial and livelihood affairs. With the support of multiple policies, the border port economic belt has ushered in development dividends.

Infrastructure development focuses on comprehensive integration

The two key projects have become the core drivers for the future development of Central Asia. After the completion of the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Railway, it will open up the Eurasian land corridor, shorten transportation distance, and help Central Asia transform into a Eurasian logistics hub. Kambalata No.1 hydropower station can provide cheap clean energy, ensure the electricity supply for people's livelihoods and industries, and drive the development of the energy industry chain. The two countries will also expand the scale of development funds, optimize the business environment, and consolidate the foundation of the alliance through economic integration. Both sides have extensively cooperated in education, culture and tourism, agriculture, and social security, supported each other on the international stage, and expanded their regional influence through multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
