On August 11, 2026, Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu met with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Reza. Ambassador Cong Peiwu introduced four proposals for maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, emphasizing that China will continue to make positive contributions to restoring peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region.  

Rezai expressed that Iran highly agrees with the four point proposal, appreciates China's consistent adherence to a fair and just stance, and welcomes China to play a constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability. Both sides also exchanged views on China Iran relations and the regional situation.Editor/Min Jing
