From the mining area at the southern foot of Tianshan Mountains to the negotiating table in Beijing, a production capacity dialogue spanning thousands of miles quietly came to an end. Uzbekistan's metallurgical giants came with the demands of blast furnaces, mines and energy, and deeply shook hands with China's metallurgical industry chain - using blast furnaces to pull out land and store energy to connect with the grid, and put the the Belt and Road production capacity cooperation into the skeleton of steel and power.

The fruitful results of the negotiations during the visit to China

On August 11, 2026, a delegation from the Uzbekistan Metallurgical Union recently went to Beijing for high-level business coordination. The delegation has reached multiple cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding with several leading Chinese industry enterprises in core areas such as new blast furnaces, mining area development, thermal power plants, and energy storage project construction. The visit to China has achieved substantial cooperation results.

Metallurgical mining cooperation landing

This visit is led by Bahodil Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uzbekistan Metallurgical Union, and the team has conducted in-depth business negotiations with China Steel Engineering Design and Research Institute. Both sides focus on capacity expansion and upgrading, and have finalized the construction plan for the new blast furnace in the existing factory area of Uzbekistan. They have also reached a cooperation consensus on the exploration and industrial development of key mining areas such as Tepinbrak, Tiemilkan, and Zakar Chuyang, laying a solid foundation for Uzbekistan to consolidate the supply of metallurgical raw materials and build a new capacity system.

On August 9th, under the witness of Uzbekistan's Ambassador to China, Farkhod Alziev, the Uzbekistan Metallurgical Union and MCC Jingcheng officially signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation. Based on the 70 years of metallurgical technology accumulation and full industry chain service capabilities of MCC Jingcheng, both parties will jointly promote the exploration and development of key mining areas, the construction of modern blast furnace metallurgical facilities, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the entire process of project preparation, geological survey, advanced technology introduction, and supporting infrastructure.

Deep integration of energy projects

In the field of energy support, the Ukrainian Metallurgical Union and China Construction International Co., Ltd. held a special symposium, which was also witnessed by the Ukrainian Ambassador to China on site. In response to the new construction project of the 150 MW thermal power plant in the Wufang factory area, China Construction International has issued a complete and feasible construction plan, which simultaneously clarifies the implementation plan for the equipment supply, installation, and commissioning of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The two sides also have in-depth exchanges on energy efficiency improvement, new technology application, long-term investment layout, and other topics.
