Maya Majulan, co-founder of the the Belt and Road Initiative in Sri Lanka, said in an interview that the China International Import Expo is an important measure for China to open its market and provides an important platform for co building the Belt and Road countries to expand export channels, promote economic and industrial development and achieve common prosperity.

Ma Julan said that the Expo shows the world that the the Belt and Road Initiative has promoted trade exchanges and people to people and cultural exchanges, and has brought broad development prospects to all countries. She believes that an open Chinese market is conducive to the development of industries, improvement of employment, and enhancement of people's quality of life in various countries, thereby achieving mutual benefit and common prosperity.

Majulan used Sri Lanka and Kenya as examples to introduce that Chinese companies introduced sea cucumber farming technology to the local area several years ago, and now this industry is flourishing, achieving exports to China and benefiting Sri Lanka; Kenya opens up the Chinese market for its avocados through the CIIE.
