A smooth road from blueprint to streets and alleys slowly unfolds in the heart of Africa. As a vivid footnote for the connection of facilities along the the Belt and Road, besides the golden channel of the China Laos railway, the Kinshasa New City vein is also built by the Chinese side - Bache Avenue runs through the Yinglian District, embedding the precision and temperature of Chinese infrastructure into the daily construction of China Africa.
Project commencement and line overview
On August 11, 2026, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo launched the construction of the Etienne Tshisekedi Avenue in Kinshasa, and the project officially entered the construction phase. The project is a China Africa infrastructure connectivity cooperation project along the the Belt and Road, which was undertaken by China Railway 20th Bureau with a construction period of 12 months. The main line is 2020 meters long and passes through the Kokoro military camp, connecting the two major urban areas. The official delivery time of the project has not been announced yet.

Engineering supporting construction content
The main road of this avenue is an eight lane comprehensive municipal engineering project that integrates roads, drainage, bridges and culverts, and urban supporting facilities. The construction scope includes 750 meters of auxiliary roads, 1140 meters of drainage channels, Basoko River box culvert bridges, and dedicated passages for the Ministry of National Defense. At the same time, supporting facilities such as sidewalks, bus stops, rainwater and sewage facilities, solar lighting, traffic signs, and greening will be built. The construction coverage is wide and the supporting facilities are complete.

Construction control and market dynamics
After the completion of the project, it can effectively divert the traffic flow on Kasavubu Avenue and optimize the traffic conditions in the area. The impact of construction on merchants, logistics, and warehousing enterprises along the route depends on segmented construction, vehicle detours, and entrance and exit retention plans. At present, the temporary traffic organization plan has not been publicly announced, and companies along the route are unable to accurately assess the fluctuations in transportation and arrival. Due to the route passing through military camps and having a dedicated passage for the Ministry of Defense, the project construction needs to be coordinated with the Congolese military. The relevant arrangements have been confirmed by the Kinshasa Provincial Government. Subsequent personnel and equipment entering the site, as well as setting up temporary entrances and exits, must strictly comply with traffic plans and military area management regulations.
