In August, the power load of North China Branch Of State Grid Corporation Of China climbed to new heights, and a key power supply guarantee curve set a record simultaneously - the scale of centralized deployment of new energy storage across the region officially exceeded 30 million kilowatts, and both the power load and the power load broke the historical peak. This is also the first time that the proportion of new energy storage and discharge power in the late peak load of domestic regional power grids exceeded 10%, providing a brilliant energy storage answer for power supply guarantee in the summer.

Peak energy storage capacity ranks first in the country
On the evening peak of August 3rd, the maximum discharge power of North China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China's new energy storage reached 32.78 million kilowatts, ranking first in the scale of regional power grids in China. On that day, the available energy storage capacity of the entire region reached 38.03 million kilowatts, and the equipment availability rate was as high as 98%. From July 31st to August 7th, in just one week, the maximum load of the North China power grid broke historical records three times, and the cumulative electricity load of provincial power grids in the region reached a new high 20 times. The new energy storage system cooperated throughout the entire process to respond to peak demand, and released key supply support during every peak period of electricity consumption.
As of now, the total scale of the new energy storage system officially put into operation by North China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China has reached 38.75 million kilowatts. Relying on the staggered operation mode of "absorbing surplus green electricity during noon and discharging and replenishing energy during evening peak hours", it not only directly alleviates the power supply shortage pressure during evening peak hours, but also greatly improves the consumption space of wind and photovoltaic power in the region, making the previously difficult to grid connected midday green electricity a reliable power supply resource during evening peak hours.
Building a Strong Energy Storage and Supply System through Global Collaboration
The North China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China collaborates with provincial power companies in the region to establish a full chain energy storage and coordinated dispatch system around ensuring supply during peak summer seasons. By coordinating with local governments to seek special policy support, we will open up channels for compliant and efficient use of new energy storage, and establish a dual-mode scheduling mechanism that combines market-oriented normal use with emergency backup guarantees.

A special application plan for summer energy storage in peak season was prepared, and multiple rounds of centralized call drills were organized in advance to build a global new energy storage optimization and dispatching platform, so as to achieve real-time monitoring of the status of all energy storage equipment and cross regional resource coordination. Dynamic consultation on power supply and demand was carried out regularly to ensure that each energy storage station could accurately produce power during the critical period when power was most scarce.
