Venezuela's railway infrastructure has been stagnant for a long time, with old lines being shut down and the road network being incomplete, which hinders transportation development. In order to activate existing infrastructure resources, the local railway bureau has conducted in-depth negotiations with CREC to restart cooperation on suspended railway projects and inject new impetus into the upgrading of local transportation.

Deepen project integration

Claudio Farias, Director of the Venezuelan National Railways, held a working meeting with the CREC delegation at Chalayave North Station. Both parties exchanged and communicated on the progress of unfinished railway station construction, re established a normalized work contact mechanism, refined and sorted out project contracts, construction goals, and related technical indicators, and made every effort to promote the resumption and implementation of various stalled railway projects. Revitalize old infrastructure

The total length of railways in Venezuela is about 1000 kilometers. Due to insufficient funding and lack of maintenance, most of the lines have been suspended, with only the Caracas to Tui Valley line remaining in operation. The network connectivity is poor and there are no cross-border railway channels. The 220 kilometer per hour Tinako Anaco railway project, which was jointly developed by China and Venezuela in 2009, was suspended due to a shortage of funds on the part of Venezuela.
