At the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, an energy link spanning the Pamir Mountains is quietly tightening. The high-level delegation from Kyrgyzstan crossed the border into Xinjiang, and from the first batch of aviation kerosene arriving in Kyrgyzstan to the long-term planning of oil and gas exploration, refinery construction, etc., China Kyrgyzstan energy cooperation is moving from a single breakthrough to a new stage of full chain deployment.

Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Erlist Akhunbikov, visited Xinjiang for work and held talks with Chinese Chen Xiaojiang. This meeting reached a cooperation agreement to optimize the supply process of fuel and lubricants from China to Kyrgyzstan. This cooperation has practical significance for ensuring stable supply of oil products in Kyrgyzstan and responding to international oil price fluctuations.

Breakthrough in oil trade

The talks highly affirmed the good development trend of bilateral relations between China and Kyrgyzstan. Both sides stated that with the promotion of the two heads of state, major projects such as the construction of the Kyrgyzstan China Uzbekistan railway, cross-border highways, the opening of the Beider port, and multiple direct flight routes have been steadily implemented. Akubekov stated that the core goal of this visit to Xinjiang is to establish a direct cooperation channel in the oil industry between the two countries and accelerate the transportation of fuel and lubricants to China and Kyrgyzstan.

The Jilin delegation includes representatives from domestic oil and gas industry enterprises, and some enterprises have already started business connections with China. Prior to the visit, the competent departments of the two countries had conducted work consultations, discussing topics such as transportation customs clearance and oil supply. Some Kyrgyz companies have signed agreements for the supply of aviation kerosene and diesel, and the first batch of aviation kerosene has been successfully delivered to Kyrgyzstan. Akhubekov expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Chinese side.

Expand diversified cooperation in oil and gas

Both sides discussed cooperation plans for joint exploration and development of oil and gas fields, construction of refineries, and construction of border storage and transit infrastructure. Chen Xiaojiang stated that China is willing to support various mutually beneficial cooperation projects, value deepening trade exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan based on the location of Xinjiang, and explore new cooperation tracks. Planning for bilateral document preparation
