A new wave of pipeline construction is underway in many parts of the world. Currently, countries in the region urgently hope to build more oil pipelines to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE plans to build a parallel pipeline next to the existing pipeline to double its capacity. Chevron, a large American oil company, is studying several pipeline schemes from Iraq to Syria and Türkiye.

Iraq and Jordan restart a long stalled oil pipeline plan. Saudi oil giant Saudi Aramco is also accelerating the expansion of its existing oil pipelines. In addition, Egypt and Libya are approaching an agreement to build an 800 kilometer oil pipeline.Editor/Min Jing
