In an assembly workshop in Xiangyang High tech Zone, workers are packing a set of high and low voltage switchgear and filter compensation devices to Khorgos Port. A few days ago, Zhongsheng Electric's overseas business department received news that after signing a contract worth over 20 million yuan for 49 intelligent power prefabricated cabins for Uzbekistan's oil field compression station in the first half of the year, the company has once again won the bid for the core substation project of a steel plant in Uzbekistan, with a contract amount of over 10 million yuan.
This is not the first time that Zhongsheng Electric has walked into a Central Asian steel site. As early as 2019, they supplied 60 sets of high-voltage switchgear and soft starter equipment for the Tashganjinpol 950+hot-rolled strip steel project. In 2021, on-site joint debugging was completed, and that line later became the first hot-rolled line in Uzbekistan and even Central Asia. The complete electrical solution of Xiangyang private enterprises, from the hot rolling line to the core substation, is being connected into a line on the local heavy industry map.

Another city
The substation project that won the bid this time is the core power supply node of this Central Asian steel plant, which directly affects whether the blast furnace, rolling line, dust removal and other production lines can start running stably. Zhongsheng Electric will provide core power equipment such as high and low voltage intelligent distribution equipment, filtering and compensation equipment, covering key links from power receiving and distribution to power quality management, comprehensively ensuring the smooth operation and production of the steel plant. For the owner, the substation is not an ancillary facility, but the heart of the entire factory; For Zhongsheng, this is a consecutive drop in the two major scenarios of energy and metallurgy in Central Asia within a month, following the oil field project.

Equipment going out to sea
Zhongsheng Electric was founded in Xiangyang in 2008, focusing on industrial electrical control, power electronics, and automation production lines. It specializes in three major product systems: prefabricated power shelters for oil and gas field stations, complete sets of high and low voltage intelligent power distribution, and filtering compensation. It can cover complex electricity scenarios such as oil and gas, mining, metallurgy, and ports. In recent years, its equipment has entered project sites in more than 30 countries and regions, including Kazakhstan's wet copper smelter, Tajikistan's Dushanbe Thermal Power Plant, and Indonesia's stainless steel smelting.
What supports its continuous bidding for overseas projects is a hard qualification plus a soft link: the low-voltage switchgear has obtained the EAC certification of the Eurasian Economic Union and obtained market clearance certificates such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus; At the same time, it has the integrated delivery capability of scheme design, factory prefabrication, factory joint debugging, and overseas operation and maintenance, which can catch the dual pressure of international projects on schedule and on-site services.

Light up the Steel City
For Uzbekistan, this steel plant substation is far more than just a million dollar order. It fills the gaps in local industrial power supply and enables steel mills to move from temporary power supply to their own core substations, which is a fundamental step in promoting the upgrading of the domestic metallurgical industry and reducing dependence on imported steel. For Chinese electrical enterprises, Zhongsheng's path reflects the transformation of domestic industrial electrical products from selling products to selling systems, from following the general contracting of central enterprises to independently winning bids for user side projects as core equipment.keywords:Engineering infrastructure
The signboard in the workshop reads: Install the Xiangyang cabinet into the World Factory. At present, this batch of switchgear that will be sent to Central Asia will nail this sentence on the wall of another steel city's distribution room.Editor/Yang Meiling
