China has firmly established its position as the world's largest producer and seller of construction machinery, with a year-on-year increase of 21.7% in export value in the first half of 2026. Electrified and intelligent products and overall solutions are becoming a new business card for going global. The globalization of Chinese construction machinery is undergoing a critical leap, from the mass sale of single equipment worldwide to the simultaneous landing of technology systems and digital capabilities overseas.

Green intelligent products seize the overseas incremental market

At Liugong Excavator Smart Factory, a batch of electric excavators are rushing to be sent to overseas mines. Compared to traditional fuel equipment, this type of product consumes only one-third of its energy, accurately matching the cost reduction and carbon reduction needs of overseas mining areas. In the first seven months of 2026, the year-on-year growth rate of excavators produced by factories in a single month exceeded 40%, with products covering more than 170 countries and regions worldwide. From 2020 to 2025, the scale of China's construction machinery exports will achieve nearly triple growth. In the first half of 2026, the export value will reach 34.373 billion US dollars, with exports to the European Union and ASEAN increasing by 28.9% and 23.6% respectively. The penetration rate of green products in high growth areas continues to rise.

Full chain capability for overseas restructuring and competitive advantage

In addition to product output, the technology and production capacity of Chinese enterprises are also synchronously moving overseas. In Karawang, Indonesia, Chinese construction machinery companies have implemented their independently developed industrial software and big data algorithms in local factories, which can predict equipment abnormalities in advance and significantly reduce downtime. The head of the local factory stated that in the past, the focus was on single device trade when going global. Now, they are synchronously exporting technical standards, quality control systems, complete supply chains, and digital solutions. In the future, they will also promote more Chinese self-developed software and AI technology to be adapted locally.

From selling hardware to exporting complete industrial capabilities, the globalization of Chinese construction machinery has long broken away from the old path of low price competition.
