A grain of Job's tears from the mountains of Laos, crossing thousands of miles along the Steel Silk Road, quietly falls into a deep processing workshop in Guizhou. For the first time, the China Laos railway freight train delivers agricultural products from the Mengsai base directly to Guiyang International Inland Port, opening up a new channel for cross-border agricultural materials, making Southeast Asian raw materials deeply integrate with the mature industrial chain of China's Hometown of Job's tears and rice, and a two-way agricultural trade corridor is moving from vision to reality.

Cross border agricultural material channels are opened up

Recently, eight cars of Job's tears from Mensai, Laos, took the China Laos international freight train to Guiyang International Land Port, realizing the first direct arrival of Job's tears from Laos to Guiyang, and also announcing the official opening of the cross-border agricultural logistics channel of the China Laos railway. This batch of Job's tears comes from the Mengsai alternative planting base in Oudomxay Province, Laos, and is transported by railway throughout the process. It passes through Mohan Port and Kunming before arriving in Guiyang. Compared with the previous transportation mode of road and sea, the transportation time has been shortened by two-thirds, the comprehensive logistics cost has been significantly reduced, and the transportation stability and economic benefits have been significantly improved.

Completing and shaping the industrial chain

Guizhou is known as the hometown of Job's tears in China, with a mature and complete system for deep processing and product distribution of Job's tears. Directly transporting overseas raw materials to the local market can fill the gap in upstream raw material supply in the industrial chain, create a complete industrial chain of Southeast Asian raw materials, Guizhou processing, and national distribution, and enhance the market competitiveness of Guizhou products. The smooth arrival of the goods at the port this time is also a practical action taken by Guizhou to strengthen cross-border logistics cooperation between China and Laos, seize the opportunities of RCEP, and promote two-way trade of agricultural products between China and ASEAN. Accelerating the construction of an open pattern

In the future, Guiyang International Land Port will continue to expand its two-way cargo categories, deepen the integrated and coordinated operation of the district and port, continuously improve cross-border logistics supporting services, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of Guizhou's open economy.Editor/Gong Ziwei
