On August 24, 2026, the Israel Metropolitan Rail Transit Corporation launched the pre qualification for the second phase of the Tel Aviv Metro tender, with a total scale of approximately 30 billion shekels, equivalent to 10.07 billion US dollars. The deadline for document submission is January 18, 2027. This bidding covers the entire chain of subway vehicle procurement, signal control system, power supply and energy, station decoration, and system integration and operation, with a focus on high-end intelligent rail transit construction.

The subway project will adopt GOA4 level fully autonomous driving technology to achieve full intelligent autonomous driving and system coordinated operation, greatly improving operational safety and efficiency. The first phase of infrastructure bidding for the project has received high international attention, with a scale of approximately 65 billion shekels, equivalent to 21.83 billion US dollars. The entire subway is planned to have three lines, with a total length of 150 kilometers and 109 stations and 4 vehicle depots.
