On August 26, 2026, in Sunwu County, Heilongjiang Province, the first shovel of soil on the black soil was slowly lifted. This brand new natural gas pipeline extending from Heihe to Daqing is closely connecting the gas source area on the China Russia border with the oil and gas hub in the northeast core, opening up the curtain for the expansion and upgrading of the entire north-south gas channel.

Dual channel pattern expands gas transmission capacity
The pipeline has a total length of 578.3 kilometers and passes through 4 cities, 10 counties and districts in Heilongjiang, Heilongjiang, Qiqihar, Suihua, Daqing, with a design pressure of 12 megapascals. The project will be connected to the planned Daqing to Changling natural gas pipeline in the future, and after it is put into operation, it will operate in coordination with the existing north-south energy corridor, officially forming a dual channel pattern of north-south natural gas, and promoting the annual gas transmission capacity of the entire system from 38 billion cubic meters to 48 billion cubic meters. The allocation and transportation capacity of regional oil and gas resources will be significantly enhanced, and the layout of the Northeast natural gas pipeline network will be further improved. The utilization of clean energy and the upgrading of related industries along the route will also be directly stimulated.
Intelligent construction takes into account ecological protection
The entire project will promote intelligent and standardized construction, extensively promote the application of 18 meter extension pipes, and directly reduce the number of circumferential welds by about 30%. The proportion of automatic welding for large-diameter pipelines along the entire line exceeds 96%, and all circumferential welds adopt a double hundred inspection standard combining fully automatic ultrasonic and digital radiographic testing, greatly improving the intrinsic safety level of pipelines. The construction process is fully integrated with ecological and environmental protection requirements. All large and medium-sized river crossings adopt directional drilling without excavation technology. When crossing black soil areas, systematic protection measures such as reducing the width of the work zone and supporting surface soil stripping, covering, plowing, and fertilization are implemented to achieve simultaneous implementation of project promotion and ecological protection.
