Drought and desert control is a global ecological challenge. Saudi Arabia is deeply involved in land greening construction, actively benchmarking China's mature desertification control model, and leveraging China's experience and technology to promote local ecological restoration projects.
Recently, Ahmed Anazi, the General Manager of Saudi Arabia's National Tree Planting Program, stated that China's years of practical experience in desertification control are of great reference value and provide important support for Saudi Arabia's ecological construction. Saudi Arabia launched the Green Saudi Initiative in 2021, planning to plant 10 billion trees and restore 40 million hectares of land. Currently, 1 million hectares of land have been restored and over 159 million trees have been planted.
Saudi Arabia, based on its natural drought and lack of rainfall, has adopted China's Kubuqi Desert management model and scientifically carried out land restoration and vegetation cultivation. The current ecological cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia continues to upgrade, gradually extending from experience exchange to green technology fields such as satellite monitoring, drones, and artificial intelligence. Both sides will continue to deepen cooperation and work together to address ecological and environmental challenges.Editor/Min Jing
