On the outskirts of the Piura region in northwestern Peru, a 40.9-kilometer road renovation project for the people's livelihood has officially started construction. The Piura road renovation project undertaken by China Railway Tenth Bureau has entered the substantive construction stage. Representatives from the National Infrastructure Agency of Peru, the Piura Regional Government, local municipalities, and supervisory units, along with the project team, attended the groundbreaking ceremony to witness the key milestone of the livelihood project in this region.

Upgrading of regional transportation network

The main line of the project starts from Apatra town in Moropon province and ends in Frias town in Ayawaka province, with a total renovation length of 40.9 kilometers, directly connecting the core transportation network between Chulukanas district and Frias district.

As a core strategic livelihood project led by the National Infrastructure Agency of Peru, the project will directly address the shortcomings of the transportation network in the northwest region of Peru, solve the long-standing cross regional transportation bottleneck, and benefit tens of thousands of people along the route, injecting stable momentum into the social and economic development of the Piura area.

Simultaneous implementation of employment and long-term operation and maintenance

The Director of Peru's National Infrastructure Agency, Aristegi, stated that this road is not only an upgrade of over 40 kilometers of road surface, but also a systematic improvement in the quality of local livelihood and development level.

During the construction period of the project, a large number of local job opportunities will be created, which will drive the income of families along the route. After completion, the National Infrastructure Agency of Peru will also carry out a four-year professional operation and maintenance guarantee to ensure the long-term stable operation of the road and achieve long-term sustainable value of the project.

China Peru infrastructure cooperation adds another sample

Since winning the bid for the project, China Railway Tenth Bureau has strictly benchmarked against local laws and regulations, environmental standards, and construction specifications in Peru, efficiently completed all preliminary preparations such as on-site investigation, scheme preparation, and resource coordination, and laid a solid foundation for smooth construction.

In the subsequent construction phase, the project team will coordinate the progress with standardized and refined management, strictly control the three core links of safety, quality, and environmental protection, and fully fulfill the commitment to high-quality performance.
