Kyrgyzstan relies on Chinese technology and capital to promote mountain tourism construction, and new resort projects have been launched to fill the gaps in the local cultural and tourism industry.

On August 27, 2026, Kyrgyzstan signed a PPP agreement with multiple parties to launch the Baytik Mountain Resort project, with a total investment of 127.9 million US dollars. The project is located in Kashka Su Village, Chuhe Prefecture, about 35 kilometers away from the capital city of Bishakek. This project is a year-round mountain tourism cluster, planning to construct cable cars, ski slopes, hotels, and health and entertainment facilities. The first phase of infrastructure is expected to be completed and put into operation in 4 to 5 years. The project has diverse sources of funding, including financing from Chinese enterprises, bank loans, and enterprise owned funds. The project construction period can create 1500 job opportunities, and after operation, it will provide 800 long-term jobs, with over 80% of the jobs targeting local residents.
