The autumn sun in Bishkek is just right, and the camel bells of the ancient Silk Road have already turned into echoes of the handshake between the two heads of state. The friendship spanning across the Tianshan Mountains is extending from the legal commitment of intergenerational friendship to a series of pathways and agreements, leaving a significant mark on the picture of comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.

On the morning of August 31, 2026, Kyrgyzstan's President Zaparov held talks with China's President at the Harmony Palace in Bishkek.  Zaparov held a welcoming ceremony for the Chinese President. The two heads of state stepped onto the reviewing stand, the military band played the Chinese Kyrgyz national anthem, and then reviewed the honor guard. The Chinese President walked to the center of the queue and greeted the team members in Kyrgyz. The honor guards responded in unison and advanced! forward! The two heads of state shook hands with accompanying personnel, watched the parade, and then the couple took a group photo in front of the national flags of the two countries in the hall of the Harmony Palace. After the ceremony, the talks officially began.

Draw a blueprint for cooperation

On behalf of the Chinese government and people, the Chinese President congratulates Kyrgyzstan on its Independence Day.   The year 2026 coincides with the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan of China. The Chinese side promotes rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization; Jilin is implementing the national development plan before 2030. China is willing to align its strategy with Kyrgyzstan, learn from each other's governance, and implement the results of cooperation, promoting the deepening and implementation of a community with a shared future.

The Chinese President emphasized that high-level political mutual trust and support are the stabilizer of relationships. China firmly upholds the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Kyrgyzstan, respects its independent development path, and continues to support each other's core interests. Sign the China Kyrgyzstan Permanent Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, laying a legal foundation for intergenerational friendship. The Chinese President proposed that pragmatic cooperation should expand trade, cultivate new increments in cross-border e-commerce and digital trade; High quality construction of the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway transportation artery, promoting modernization of the port bank and soft connectivity with regulatory standards; Promote the entire industry chain of green electricity, circular resources, and green minerals; Jointly build the the Belt and Road joint laboratory, and embed artificial intelligence technology innovation; Multi track exchanges among youth, media, culture and tourism, healthcare, and local communities build public opinion roots.

The Chinese President has made it clear that law enforcement and security should work together to combat the three forces, drug traffickers, and transnational crimes. China supports Kyrgyzstan International's voice, implements the Four Major Global Initiatives within the United Nations, opposes hegemonic power, and upholds true multilateralism; Together with the founding countries, we will implement the Tianjin Summit and promote organizational quality improvement.

  The ancient Silk Road connects the two countries, and the comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era has reached a historical peak. Thank you to the Chinese side for reaching out at a critical moment, congratulating the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and the opening of the 15th Five Year Plan, expressing our selfless governance and willingness to learn how to govern the country. China prioritizes diplomacy with Kyrgyzstan and is the most reliable friendly country. Kyrgyzstan adheres to the One China principle and is willing to cooperate with Shenzhen in trade and investment, connectivity, science and technology innovation, energy and mining, green economy, culture, education, health and youth, and jointly fight against terrorism. We are willing to cooperate with China in the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the China Central Asia Mechanism, and the World AI Cooperation Organization to maintain world peace through the recognition of the four major global initiatives.

Zaparov comforted the people of the Kyrgyz government on the debris flow in Jilong, Xizang. The Chinese President expressed gratitude and introduced that China is making every effort to search and rescue, relocate, rescue the injured, and prevent secondary disasters. China is also providing emergency assistance to Nepal and has confidence in winning the disaster and rebuilding.

Harvest fruitful results

After the talks, the two heads of state jointly signed the Joint Declaration on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for High Quality Development in the New Era and the Permanent Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, witnessing the exchange of bilateral texts on investment, transportation, customs, sister cities, etc. During the visit, more than 20 agreements were signed in areas such as technology, education, humanities, and media.Editor/Gong Ziwei
