On August 28, 2026, the Guangzhou International Exchange and Cooperation Center welcomed a grand economic and trade event between China and Pakistan. The 2026 Pakistan Investment and Business Exchange Conference was held here to deepen China Pakistan economic and trade cooperation and celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Government departments, business institutions, and enterprise representatives from China and Pakistan gathered together to conduct project roadshows and B2B docking around key industries such as new energy, e-commerce, home building materials, and food processing, and signed multiple cooperation agreements. This year is a crucial year for the full implementation of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0, and Guangzhou and Pakistan are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations with pragmatic cooperation.

Government and enterprises gather to discuss cooperation

Tu Hongzhe, a first level researcher at the Guangzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, stated that the cooperation between Guangzhou and Pakistan has a solid foundation and significant complementary advantages. The Lahore Metro Orange Line, which Guangzhou participated in the construction and operation of, has become a benchmark project for China Pakistan livelihood cooperation. Muzamiya Jiyya, Director General of the Secretariat of the Pakistan China Pakistan Economic Corridor, stated in a video link that cooperation between the two sides is based on mutual trust, common development, the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and deep friendship. Pakistan attaches great importance to promoting the next stage of development of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and achieving closer industrial cooperation and commercial exchanges. The Commercial Counsellor of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou stated that China and Pakistan have established diplomatic relations for 75 years, and the construction of the first and even second phases of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is one of the most important achievements in the bilateral relationship.

Multi domain project centralized signing

A signing ceremony for cooperation projects in multiple fields was held at the event site, covering areas such as joint production of electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, building materials and furniture, agricultural product procurement, as well as international medical and business tourism. Guangzhou Guangbao Cultural Development Co., Ltd. has reached a cooperation agreement with Direct Pakistan Railway Pakistan Company to carry out practical cooperation around the market promotion and localized dissemination of Chinese brands in Pakistan. The representative of SAIC GM Wuling Overseas Business Unit introduced the company's overseas strategy, focusing on deepening the market in Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, and providing tailored products and local manufacturing services to overseas users. The representative of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce stated that the achievements of the cooperation between the two sides are reflected in the development of new trade routes, the establishment of cold chain logistics systems, and the expansion of new fields such as solar energy. China Pakistan economic and trade continue to deepen
