On September 1, 2026, China Southern Power Grid, together with China Telecom and State Power Investment Corporation, officially established the National Computing Interconnection Power Industry Node Promotion Consortium. This is a crucial step for the planning and substantive construction of computing power interconnection in China's power industry. When the fluctuation of wind and solar power output requires flexible migration of computing power, and when the transmission of electricity from the west to the east and the integration of data from the east to the west are needed, the mission of this consortium is clear and explicit - to make computing power follow green power and turn concepts into reality.

Deep Collaboration of Electric Carbon Arithmetic Intelligent Network
The power industry node will create the first industry level computing hub in China to achieve deep collaboration between electricity, carbon, arithmetic, and intelligent networks. According to the overall deployment of 1+M+N by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the project will build an eight layer technical architecture and four core systems that connect power facilities, communication networks, computing resources, data elements, and intelligent applications. It innovatively adopts a new model of intelligent scheduling driven by both power signals and carbon emission signals, forming five core characteristics of proximity, inclusiveness, innovation, green, and safety, and creating a replicable and promotable industry benchmark for the construction of a national integrated computing power network.

Three parties work together to build a dual network base
Southern Power Grid leverages the advantages of digital grid operators, relying on the collaborative operation system of electric carbon calculation and the pilot base of trusted data space in the energy industry, to provide industry-specific scheduling and data element support; China Telecom leverages its advantages as a backbone operator of computing power networks, relying on computing power scheduling platforms and all-optical backbone networks to achieve unified management of heterogeneous computing power and high-speed deterministic connections; State Power Investment Corporation leverages the advantages of the clean energy industry and strengthens the guarantee of green power supply. Based on their respective resource endowments, the three parties will build a complementary dual network collaborative base of public and private networks, forming a dual driving scheduling capability of power signal and computing power status. Computing power follows green electricity towards practice
The consortium collaborates with key regions such as Guangdong and Guizhou to build interconnectivity between computing and electricity, breaking down barriers in electricity, computing power, and carbon emissions.
