On the afternoon of September 7, 2026, Li Qiang met with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.Li Qiang stated that Qatar is an important strategic partner of China in the Middle East Gulf region.   China is willing to work with Qatar to further strengthen communication and cooperation, firmly support each other on issues related to each other's core interests, promote deeper and more practical bilateral relations, and better benefit the people of both countries.

Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Kazakhstan, jointly build the the Belt and Road with high quality, deepen cooperation in traditional energy, new energy, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, finance and other fields, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results. The Chinese side welcomes the active investment of the Qatari side in China and also supports more Chinese enterprises to invest in the Qatari side, promoting the improvement of quality and efficiency of two-way investment. We hope that the cardholder will continue to provide a favorable development environment for Chinese enterprises and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions, and projects in the cardholder. Both sides also need to strengthen cultural, educational, and research exchanges and cooperation on giant panda conservation, in order to promote mutual understanding and matchmaking between the two peoples. The current international situation is turbulent and intertwined. Both China and Kazakhstan are developing countries, and we should strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation to promote the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system. China supports Qatar in playing a mediating role in the Middle East situation and is willing to work tirelessly with Qatar and other regional countries as well as the international community to promote the early restoration of peace and tranquility in the region.

Mohammed stated that Qatar values its relationship with China, and the two countries have always adhered to mutual trust and respect, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. In 2014, Emir Tamim and his leaders jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between Qatar and China. Political mutual trust between the two countries continued to strengthen, and cooperation in energy, investment, industry, infrastructure, culture, and other fields yielded fruitful results, ushering in a "golden age" of bilateral relations. Qatar is willing to work with China to strengthen exchanges at all levels, deepen practical cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, high-tech, and advanced manufacturing, and jointly open the next golden decade of bilateral relations.
