Oman and Hainan discuss investment cooperation in special economic zones and free zones

Ghas bin Mohammed Yusuf, Chairman of the Public Administration of the Omani Special Economic Zone and Free Zone in Muscat, the capital of Oman, met with an economic and trade delegation led by Batel, Executive Vice Governor of Hainan Province, China. Both sides are conducting in-depth exchanges on economic, trade, and investment cooperation in the fields of special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities. From mutual learning of park management experience to joint construction of industrial clusters, from port coordination to attracting high-quality investment, a dialogue on park cooperation across the Gulf and South China Sea is underway.

Park system docking investment opportunities

The delegation introduced the economic special zones, free zones, and industrial city systems regulated by the management bureau, as well as the supporting environment provided for investors. Both parties reviewed the investment opportunities provided by each park and explored potential areas for cooperation with Hainan Province. Oman, with its superior strategic location, flexible regulatory system, and openness to regional and global markets, coupled with the logistics depth formed by its port and airport network and integrated infrastructure, can effectively enhance investors' ability to enter target markets and expand their business. Both sides also studied the possibility of promoting investment partnerships between enterprises and institutions in multiple promising economic and industrial fields in both regions.

Shift from framework to pragmatic cooperation

Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen overall coordination, simplify procedures, and create an environment conducive to cooperation; Promote the joint participation of economic parks, enterprises, and the private sector in the development and implementation of investment and business opportunities. Both parties will fully draw on each other's experience in the development and management of economic and professional parks, promote the coordinated linkage between parks and ports, develop industrial clusters, attract high-quality investment, and shift cooperation from a general framework to a pragmatic partnership based on specific initiatives and projects. Both sides also discussed strengthening the connections and exchanges between Oman and the business community of Hainan Province, China. Knowledge transfer and industrial synergy

The meeting will introduce opportunities for Chinese companies to invest and expand their business within the jurisdiction of Oman, with the aim of attracting high-quality investment, promoting industrial synergy, and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and modern technology. Oman is accelerating its economic diversification process by benchmarking the development experience of mature parks such as China's Hainan Free Trade Port.
