On September 6, 2026, the 5th "China Tanzania Friendship Cup" table tennis competition, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania and organized by the Tanzania Chinese Cultural Center, was successfully held in Dar es Salaam. Ambassador Chen Mingjian and Tan Sports Minister's representative and Director of the Trade Development Bureau, Ma Fulu, attended together.

Ambassador Chen stated in his speech that the scale and influence of the China Tanzania Friendship Cup table tennis competition continue to expand, and it has become an important brand for cultural exchanges between China and Tanzania. This year is the Year of Cultural Exchange between China and Africa. We hope that everyone can use table tennis as a medium to continuously deepen the traditional friendship between China and Tanzania.

Ma Furu stated that it is timely to hold the China Tanzania Friendship Cup table tennis competition during the China Africa Cultural Exchange Year. Tanzania is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in sports and other fields to deepen the friendship between Tanzania and China. Ambassador Chen also presented training supplies to the Tanzanian Table Tennis Association.
