Deep underground on the Singapore Cross Island Line, giant shield tunneling equipment continues to advance. Recently, CREG's independently developed Harmonia 12.66-meter large-diameter shield tunneling machine completed the excavation task, and the tunnel between Danbinni North Station and Defu Station was successfully connected. The domestically produced shield tunneling machine has achieved another breakthrough in overseas engineering.

Conquer complex geological formations

The total length of the construction section is 2560 meters, and the tunnel is buried at a depth of about 45 meters. Along the line, there are layers of silty sand and soft soil containing gravel. The excavation route requires crossing sensitive structures such as airplane runways and elevated bridges, and the settlement control standards are strict. The R&D team conducted specialized optimization of the equipment, setting a construction record for Singapore's large-diameter shield tunneling with a daily excavation of 18 meters and a monthly excavation of 300 meters. Showcasing domestic strength

Harmonia is CREG's first large-diameter atmospheric pressure cutterhead earth pressure balance shield machine to land in Singapore. This successful completion has accumulated measured data and process experience for overseas construction of similar equipment, fully proving that domestic shield tunneling equipment can meet the high standard infrastructure requirements overseas and continuously enhance the international competitiveness of Chinese construction machinery.Editor/Min Jing
