As the digital tide sweeps across the globe, computing power has become the core engine driving the future. In the technology hotspot of Johor, Malaysia, a silent competition about intelligent computing power is unfolding. Bitdeer AI has keenly captured the pulse of the market and quickly settled in the existing park, expanding its liquid cooled data center layout again with an agile mode of on-demand warehousing, and fully rushing towards the star sea of the AI era.

Bitdeer AI is a subsidiary of the Bitdeer Group, specializing in cryptocurrency mining and AI cloud infrastructure. Recently, a 10-year data center service agreement was signed for the 65.1 MW AI cloud data center A202 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, which is expected to be powered on in the third quarter of 2027.

Expansion of the park

The announcement shows that A202 and BitdeerAI currently have 21.7 MW A201 facilities located in the Johor campus. After both projects were put into operation, the park finally reached 86.8 megawatts. A202 is compatible with liquid cooled rack level Nvidia systems and supports GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin computing platforms.

A202 can provide GPU cloud services and data hosting. Based on the existing supporting facilities in the park, power, liquid cooling, and network resources can be expanded. The enterprise estimates that the single megawatt efficiency of A202 is similar to that of A102. At present, the Bitdeer AI reserve AI cloud capacity project is valued at over 7 billion US dollars, including unsigned computing power.

Sufficient orders

Previously disclosed, the 9.5 MW computing power of the A102 project in Malaysia will be sold out before it is electrified in the first quarter of 2027. Combined with the August purchase agreement, the Johor project has secured a 5-year long-term order with an expected total revenue of over 800 million US dollars. The company plans to build a global 350 MW AI cloud computing power by the first quarter of 2028.

Michael G. Potter, Chief Financial Officer of BitDeer, stated that the supply of liquid cooled AI cloud computing power will be insufficient to meet demand by 2027. A102 sold out before production, A201 is in deep negotiations and has locked in 206.5 megawatts of computing power. The implementation of A202 is to add computing power to the existing park in response to market demand. Retainna Lin, Vice President of Bitdeer AI Cloud Business, introduced that the Johor project has the fastest landing speed. A201 plan to be put into use in January 2027; A202 is located in the same park and shares supporting facilities, allowing for an expansion of 65.1 MW without the need for a new site selection. Build warehouses on demand

The GPU deployment funds for A202 mainly come from customer prepayments. Prepayments can cover more than half of the project's capital expenditures, with the remaining funds being supplemented by contract cash flow financing and operating funds. Bitdeer AI builds computing power and deploys GPUs based on the needs of contracted customers. We plan to complete all computing power contracts before A202 is powered on. There are differences in business conditions among different projects, and previous contract terms are not applicable to subsequent new projects.Editor/Gong Ziwei
