During his recent inspection of the Erdenerbren hydropower station in western Mongolia, Mongolian President Khurilesukh stated that the project is an important achievement of practical cooperation between Mongolia and China. Mongolia will take this opportunity to continue deepening practical cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure between the two countries.
Hurile Suhe listened to the progress report of the project construction on site and unveiled a commemorative stone monument for the project. He fully affirmed China's project performance and construction management level, and thanked the Chinese government for its strong support in project construction.
Cao Li, Acting Charg é d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, stated that China is willing to work together with Mongolia to solidly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, consolidate strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and build the Erdenbulen hydropower station into a benchmark project that accurately connects global development initiatives with Mongolia's "Vision 2050" development plan. This will enable green and clean electricity to benefit grassroots livelihoods in Mongolia and inject lasting momentum into the local green, low-carbon transformation and high-quality development.
The Erdenbulen Hydropower Station is constructed by China Electric Power Construction Group Co., Ltd. and is currently the largest national key livelihood hydropower station in Mongolia. The total installed capacity of the project is 90 megawatts. After full operation, it will effectively ensure stable power supply to the five provinces in western Mongolia, significantly improve regional energy self-sufficiency, synchronously improve local agricultural irrigation conditions, drive the development of cultural tourism and fishery industries, and assist in regional ecological environment protection and comprehensive governance.Editor/Huang jiali
