In his speech, the Minister of State for Infrastructure of Rwanda, Bizimungu, stated that the project fully demonstrates the strong and lasting friendship between Rwanda and China. He said that with the continuous development of Kigali city and the urgent need for transportation upgrading, the implementation of this project is timely. After the completion of the project, it will significantly improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and strengthen the connectivity level of the entire city of Kigali, providing strong support for urban development and economic growth.

Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Gao Wenqi stated that the completion of this road will significantly reduce transportation costs, promote economic development, and improve people's livelihoods along the route. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda. China will continue to uphold the concept of truth, friendship, and sincerity, promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two countries, and push for the development of bilateral relations to a higher level.

The 10 kilometer road renovation project in Kigali, Rwanda is the latest aid project implemented by the Chinese government in Rwanda. It is undertaken by Hunan Road and Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd. The construction content covers roadbed and pavement, bridges and culverts, lighting and drainage, and traffic safety facilities. It will also build Rwanda's first urban overpass.Editor/Gong Ziwei
