On September 17, 2026, the handover ceremony of China's aid to the reconstruction of public facilities in the capital of Solomon Islands was held grandly at Honiara High School. Ambassador Cai Weiming, Finance Minister Ramofafia, and Education Minister Kumi attended the event, with over 300 representatives from Honiara Mayor, Prime Minister's Office, Parliament, and various sectors in attendance.

Ambassador Cai pointed out that with the joint efforts of both China and the Institute, the reconstruction project of public facilities in the capital of China Aid Institute has been completed and handed over. The project includes the damaged ceremonial buildings of the Institute of Rites and the Honiara High School teaching building, library, administrative building, etc. during the 2021 unrest, which are new symbols of friendship between China and the Institute. The Chinese side appreciates the government's adherence to the One China principle and will continue to uphold the principle of "four full respects" and carry out cooperation in various fields, promoting the relationship between China and the Soviet Union to a new level.

Finance Minister Ramofafia and Education Minister Kumi, on behalf of the government, sincerely thank the Chinese government for helping to rebuild the public facilities damaged during the 2021 turmoil. We believe that the completion of these facilities will deepen the friendship and all-round cooperation between the two countries. At the ceremony, teachers and students from Honiara High School sang and danced, thanking China for its assistance, and the atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.Editor/Gong Ziwei
