On September 21, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore held a grand reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Minister of the Prime Minister's Office of Singapore, as well as the Second Minister of Finance and National Development, represented the new government and delivered a speech. More than 800 people attended the meeting, including members of the New National Assembly and representatives from various government departments, business associations, Chinese communities, academia, media, cultural and educational sectors, ambassadors from various countries to New Zealand, as well as representatives from Chinese funded institutions and international students.

Ambassador Cao Zhongming said in his speech that this year is the 77th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. The CPC has led the Chinese people to achieve great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention. The Chinese economy has made steady progress at the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan, showing an overall stable and new oriented development trend. Technological innovation has achieved new breakthroughs, green transformation has broken new records, and new highlights have been created in democracy, rule of law, and people's well-being. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and Singapore, the comprehensive and high-quality forward-looking partnership between the two countries has made new progress, with close high-level exchanges and diverse exchanges in various fields. China is willing to work with Singapore to continue deepening political mutual trust, expanding trade and investment, and continuously creating new highlights of cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Cao pointed out that the century long changes are accelerating, and various risks, challenges, and governance deficits are becoming increasingly prominent. China has taken a firm stand in safeguarding international fairness and justice, and has successively put forward the "the Belt and Road Initiative" and four major global initiatives to actively promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China is willing to support and closely cooperate with Singapore on their respective major diplomatic agendas, and work with ASEAN countries to inject lasting peace and common prosperity into the region and the world through practical actions.

Minister Yinglani warmly congratulates the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, positively evaluates China's extraordinary development achievements in the past few decades, and expresses close high-level exchanges and continuous expansion of cooperation in various fields between the two countries. She is full of confidence in reaching new heights in the all-round and high-quality forward-looking partnership between New Zealand and China. Next year, the newly appointed ASEAN rotating presidency looks forward to strengthening coordination and close cooperation with China to jointly promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
