In the autumn sunshine of Vojvodina Plain, representatives of three Türkiye energy enterprises completed the signing of the contract on the project plot 33 kilometers away from Belgrade. The 30MWp photovoltaic energy storage project with a total investment of 25.5 million euros has officially moved from the planning drawing to the ready to start state, and Türkiye's capital is playing another key role in the green power market in Southeast Europe.

The project has entered the waiting window for commencement

The project is located in the Vojvodina region of northern Serbia, with a total installed capacity of 30MWp and a supporting battery energy storage system. All preliminary procedures have been completed and the project is ready for construction. The construction permit is expected to be officially issued within one month. After the project is put into operation, the annual power generation will exceed 40GWh, which can cover the daily electricity consumption of 11000 households in the local area and reduce about 19000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Enkraft Energy, which undertakes full process EPC services, will also officially launch its photovoltaic energy storage professional engineering platform operation for the Southeast European region starting from this project. According to publicly available data from the local energy department in the third quarter of 2026, Serbia's current photovoltaic grid connected installed capacity has exceeded 1.2GW, with a year-on-year increase of 67% in new installed capacity in the first eight months of this year. The pace of regional green power construction has significantly accelerated.

Green electric base load strategy landing

Unlike traditional photovoltaic projects that rely on a single market-oriented electricity sales model, this project will adopt a combined consumption structure of long-term power purchase agreements and spot market transactions. Through an energy storage system, electricity will be time shifted, converting intermittent photovoltaic power generation into dispatchable stable electricity, directly matching Fortis Energy's green base load strategy.

At present, Fortis has accumulated a reserve of 375MW photovoltaic and energy storage projects in Southeast Europe, with a total supporting energy storage capacity of 112MWh. The projects cover multiple countries such as Serbia and Albania. Keywords: energy storage projects, photovoltaic storage
