According to the agreement, within the next year, both parties will jointly promote the development and implementation of multiple energy storage projects in Hungary and neighboring countries, with application scenarios covering grid side peak shaving, new energy distribution and storage, and industrial and commercial user side energy storage. The significance of this collaboration lies not in the scale of 150MWh itself, but in the direction of the technological roadmap. The person in charge of Szermann Kft clearly stated during the signing that Welion's leading position in solid-state and semi-solid state battery technology is beyond doubt, and they look forward to introducing advanced Chinese energy storage technology, especially solid-state battery technology, into the European market. This means that China's semi-solid state battery technology is entering the European electricity market in the form of large-scale energy storage projects, rather than staying in the laboratory or demonstration stage.

The inspection rhythm of first inspecting the factory and then signing the contract

Before signing the contract, the Szermann Kft delegation visited Welion's battery cell production base in Zibo, Shandong and energy storage system manufacturing base in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. At the Zibo factory, the delegation gained a deep understanding of the intelligent production process and strict quality control system for 314Ah high-capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries; At the Jiaxing factory, we conducted on-site inspections of the automated production lines and testing capabilities of industrial and commercial energy storage cabinets and container energy storage systems. The rhythm of looking at the factory first and then signing the contract indicates that European customers have extended their investigation of Chinese energy storage enterprises from product parameters to the manufacturing system itself. On a technical level, Welion's semi-solid state batteries have significant advantages in safety and cycle life. Through self-developed solid-state electrolytes, in-situ solidification, multi-layer coating and other technologies, the ultimate high temperature resistance of its semi-solid lithium batteries has been improved by more than 50%, and the cycle life can reach 12000 times, which is more than 50% longer than traditional liquid lithium batteries.

Hungary policy window period

The policy window period in the Hungarian market is another key background for this cooperation. In early 2026, the Hungarian government launched an energy storage subsidy program with a total amount of approximately 100 billion forints, combined with subsidies for household energy storage.
