The water flow of the Jatiluhur Dam in West Java flows smoothly through the valley, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the 640 MW AI data center CGK4 has just ended on an empty land 5 kilometers away from the shore. This top AI computing power park in Southeast Asia has broken ground, directly pushing Indonesia's position in the global computing power map forward by a big step.

High standard computing infrastructure landing

The project is developed by BDx Data Centers in Singapore, with plans for 6 buildings. The overall construction period is about three years, and it will be put into operation in stages. The first building has started construction, with an initial delivery of 120 megawatts of IT capacity. The first batch of computing nodes are scheduled to be officially launched in early 2027.

The park adopts a direct touch chip liquid cooling architecture design, and a single rack can support a maximum load of 500 kilowatts, reserving sufficient space for the next generation of high-density AI acceleration cards. The project will receive Nvidia DGX readiness certification in April 2025, supported by a $320 million loan that will be implemented in 2026. BDx has locked in over 1.2 gigavolt ampere grid capacity across three AI ready parks in Indonesia, with CGK4 being the largest core project and supporting 845 megavolt ampere PLN direct supply grid capacity.

Southeast Asia's computing power brings a new window

On September 22, the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mines publicly stated at an industry event that they will ensure on-demand power supply for data center investors. According to data from the local investment department, the size of the Indonesian data center market is expected to reach approximately 1.83 billion US dollars in 2026 and climb to 3.48 billion US dollars in 2031, with a compound annual growth rate of 13.71%.

The project is located adjacent to a large hydropower station and is currently promoting direct hydropower supply cooperation, relying on the abundant local hydropower, geothermal and photovoltaic resources to reduce computing power and carbon emissions. On September 21st, Hong Kong stock companies just announced that they have won a $93 million overseas prefabricated AI data center module order, with the first delivery point landing in Johor, Malaysia. From Singapore to Malaysia and then to Indonesia, along the Southeast Asian computing power belt, China's prefabricated computing power module green power development and construction industry chain has gradually entered the market. During the three-year construction period, every link hides clear opportunities for industrial connection. Keywords: computing power, big data center

The wind in the valley brushes over the newly erected project signboard, and this 640 megawatt giant computing power park is just the first cornerstone of Indonesia's computing infrastructure construction cycle.Editor/Cheng Liting
