On September 29, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Panama Zhang Xiangyan submitted his credentials to President Mulino of Panama.

Ambassador Zhang conveyed warm greetings and good wishes from the President to President Mulino, and expressed that China attaches great importance to the development of China Pakistan relations, always respects and supports Pakistan's sovereignty over the canal and its permanent neutrality, and appreciates the Pakistani government's adherence to the One China principle. China is willing to work together with Pakistan to eliminate interference, move towards the same direction, promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, and better benefit the people of both countries.
