On October 12, 2026, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Kallas, announced that the Foreign Ministers' Meeting of EU member states had decided to expand the sanctions list against the Russian military industry, involving approximately 1600 individuals and entities.
Karas wrote on social media that this is the largest expansion of the EU sanctions list against Russia since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. More than half of the newly sanctioned targets are related to the ballistic missile production supply chain.
Karas also stated that the EU hopes to weaken Russia's military production capacity by expanding the scope of sanctions, increasing the difficulty, time cost, and economic cost of producing weapons.Editor/Min Jing
