The new round of railway innovation blueprint has been officially released to the public. The NRA has issued the 15th Five Year Plan for Railway Science and Technology Innovation, anchoring the construction goals by 2030. From high-speed train equipment to intelligent operation and maintenance, multiple cutting-edge rail transit technologies have been put on the research and development agenda.

Tackling high-speed rail equipment

The plan proposes to carry out engineering technology research on trains with a speed of 400 kilometers per hour, study basic technologies such as wheel rail catenary, and create a series of CR450 high-speed train products with corresponding maintenance systems. Experimental verification of key technology for synchronous propulsion of high-speed maglev with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour. At the same time, we will develop a new generation of passenger and tourist trains, as well as freight equipment with a speed of 120 to 200 kilometers per hour. We will also develop cold chain and tank containers, track gauge adaptive freight cars, and enrich the category of railway transportation equipment.

Building a smart green road network

Plan to upgrade the 12306 ticketing platform to a full itinerary intelligent service system, and develop technologies such as passenger seamless communication, customs clearance, and flu awareness. Building a national level railway logistics platform based on 95306, tackling the issue of multimodal transportation with a single order system, and exploring air rail intermodal transportation and high-speed rail combined with drone delivery models. Layout five G-R Beidou, initiate preliminary research on six G and low orbit satellite ground fusion communication, promote unmanned aerial vehicle inspection, and use high-definition visual infrared imaging to complete bridge and tunnel orbit hazard detection.
