When the last two pieces of 381 ton generator equipment arrived at the site smoothly, the logistics task of the Uzbekistan Sukhandaya power station carried by COSCO Shipping's logistics supply chain was fully completed. After the completion of this largest single gas-fired power station in Ukraine, the annual power generation can reach about 12 billion kilowatt hours, which can provide stable power supply for about 5 million households.

Since the first batch of equipment was shipped in March 2026, the project team has completed 409 batches and 2133 vehicle shipments. Among the large equipment, there are 111 pieces of equipment weighing over 50 tons, and the total amount of engineering materials transported exceeds 170000 cubic meters. Uzbekistan, as a dual landlocked country, has no sea access and faces numerous difficulties in cross-border transportation of overweight and ultra long equipment. The project team spans across multiple countries in Europe and Asia, facing multiple challenges such as frozen waterways, changes in port policies, and road construction.

Open up intermodal transportation channels

The equipment sources are scattered in China, Germany, the Netherlands, and other places. The project team is building a sea river land air integrated intermodal transportation system and planning three transportation routes to work together in the east, north, and west. As the main channel, the eastern route transports more than 140000 cubic meters of domestic materials through Khorgos and Wuqia ports. The European goods started from Hamburg and Rotterdam, changed their load through Türkiye, crossed the Caspian Sea, and then turned to the road in Kazakhstan. The team customizes exclusive transportation plans for overweight and oversized items, relying on air transportation for emergency supplies and multi line linkage to overcome the bottleneck of inland logistics in Central Asia.

Escort the performance of large items

The project equipment is mostly overweight and ultra high precision equipment, and there is no universal transportation plan. The team adjusted equipment such as counterweight cranes, axis vehicles, and self-propelled module transport vehicles, conducted on-site surveys in advance and carried out digital simulations, and customized transportation plans for each vehicle. The 414 ton gas turbine underwent five stages of relay transportation and was delivered over a distance of 22000 kilometers in 194 days. The 380 ton generator was equipped with constant temperature protection and a dedicated bracket, and was delivered intact after a long journey of 175 days. 48 waste heat boiler modules were assembled with over a thousand domestic and international axis transportation capabilities, and the fleet traveled 6450 kilometers to complete cross-border transportation. Pre preparation of customs clearance documents for the project resulted in an overall clearance rate of 99.73%. In case of emergencies such as port policy adjustment in Türkiye and road construction in Uzbekistan, the team quickly adjusted the plan to repair the access road, so as to ensure smooth transportation of large items.
