Outside Tashkent city, 20000 hectares of land are rising from the blueprint. Mirziyoyev pressed the start button, 7 facilities were delivered, 10 projects were launched, and the total investment was 2.5 billion US dollars. The development project of the largest city in Central Asia is accelerating, with an investment of 2 billion US dollars and more funds pouring in.

New city acceleration landing

Mirziyoyev attended the facility delivery and project launch ceremony of the new Tashkent city. As of now, the new city has invested over 2 billion US dollars, with a total planned project value of 50 billion US dollars in the first phase. Seven facilities with a total value of 1 billion US dollars have been officially put into use, including the first phase of the Oriental Spring residential community, road and infrastructure projects, the new Tashkent No.1 substation, the cogeneration power station, the Chamber of Commerce building, Sohil Bog'i Park, and a secondary school that can accommodate 2000 students. Among them, Türkiye MIMSAN invested 73 million dollars to build a cogeneration power station, which can provide central heating and cooling for 100000 households; China Haocheng Industrial Group has implemented a substation and high-voltage transmission line project worth 95 million US dollars. At the same time, 10 new projects with a total value of 2.5 billion US dollars were launched, involving partners from China, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates and other countries. Among them, Deep Tech Park High tech Industrial Park invested 320 million US dollars, and it is expected that another 1.7 billion US dollars will be settled in the future. The new city will be launched in 2023, allocating 20000 hectares of land, planning 2000 hectares of green space and 500 hectares of parks, and constructing 150 million square meters of residential buildings according to green building standards. A 55000 seat sports stadium is currently under construction and will serve the 2027 U-20 World Cup.

The policy window is open

In order to attract large-scale investment, Uzbekistan has introduced the Land Switzerland Challenge mechanism, and investors have proposed publicly announcing that if there is no better offer, the land will be allocated to the initial initiators. The infrastructure fees have been significantly reduced, with trade services and business center fees dropping to one fourth of their original levels, hotel and tourism facilities fees dropping to one sixth, cultural and entertainment facilities fees dropping to one eleventh, and private kindergarten and hospital fees set at 1% of the benchmark. The new regulations also apply to projects that have already started construction. For non residential projects worth over 50 million US dollars, the government will fully bear the cost of green building certification and ensure that 30% of the city's area is converted into green space according to the overall plan. Tracking the bidding announcement and supply chain procurement plan of the new Tashkent Construction Bureau for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in power equipment, building materials, steel structures, and construction machinery is an effective way to enter this market. Keywords: New Tashkent, Chinese enterprises going global

From a planned investment of 2 billion US dollars to 50 billion US dollars, from 7 facilities being put into operation to 10 projects being launched, from Switzerland challenging the land model to a significant reduction in fees, New Tashkent is moving from planning to implementation. For Chinese enterprises, the policy window for the development project of the largest city in Central Asia has been opened, and early tracking of bidding and supply chain demand is expected to find a supporting position in this round of construction cycle.Editor/Min Jing
