On October 15, 2026, the results of the bidding candidates for the EPC project of the railway dedicated line of the Badain Jaran Desert New Energy Base 4 × 1000MW coal-fired power project with a total investment of 15 billion were announced. This 4.85-kilometer main line undertakes the annual transportation of 8.7 million tons of coal for the power plant. China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. ranks as the first candidate for winning the bid with the lowest price. The main and supporting projects have successively announced their winning bids, and the 11GW new energy base supporting peak shaving power supply has entered the comprehensive construction stage.

Project Overview

The project is located in Mingshawo Village, Yinda Town, Suzhou District, Jiuquan, Gansu Province. Plan to build four 1000MW high-efficiency ultra supercritical air-cooled coal-fired units, equipped with desulfurization and denitrification facilities. The railway starts from Mingshawo Station on the Jiu'e Railway and connects to the power plant through a turning curve. A new power plant station is built with multiple operating lines, designed to transport 8.7 million tons of coal annually to ensure stable fuel supply for the power plant.

The engineering significance is highlighted

The winning bidder is responsible for the full cycle of work from survey and design, procurement and construction to completion acceptance and procedure handling, with a construction period of 12 months. The competition in this bidding is fierce, with China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. ranking first with a price of 117070311 million yuan, and Lanzhou Railway Design Institute ranking second.
