October in Tashkent has already brought a chill. In a corner of the exhibition hall, Li Jiewei, the general manager of Xinjiang Populus euphratica Cable Manufacturing Co., Ltd., handed a cable sample to the customer and repeatedly compared the technical parameters of cold resistance and pressure resistance. A few hours later, the head of this specialized and innovative small giant enterprise had already sat at the same negotiation table with the local energy association and power engineering clients in Uzbekistan.
This scene occurred at the China (Xinjiang) - Uzbekistan Commodity Exhibition and Enterprise Economic and Trade Exchange Conference held from October 14 to 16, 2026. The event is hosted by the Xinjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, with 22 Xinjiang enterprises participating in groups to connect with the Central Asian market.

The Opportunity of One Cable
Although cables may seem ordinary, they are currently one of the most scarce commodities in Uzbekistan. To support rapid economic growth and large-scale integration of new energy, the country is shifting the focus of energy industry development towards modernization and digital transformation of power grid infrastructure. Only about 30% of the more than 1800 35 kV to 110 kV substations in the country have been renovated, and in the next four years, about 5000 kilometers of transmission and distribution lines will be renovated, new substations will be built, and digital automatic control systems will be deployed. The gap is the order. Li Jiewei introduced that relying on the upgrading of the local power grid and the construction needs of new energy projects, the company has successfully connected with local energy associations and power engineering clients.
The fabric is going abroad for the first time
Xinjiang Xuancai Textile Co., Ltd., which participated in the exhibition, is visiting Uzbekistan for the first time. Chairman Zhang Jibo treated the unfolded fabric sample book as a business card, explaining the craftsmanship, composition, and delivery time to every stopped purchaser. In his opinion, using the exhibition platform can provide close contact with overseas buyers, showcase mature production processes, high-quality fabric products, and brand strength, and truly broaden the vision of international development for enterprises.

The excitement in the exhibition hall is not limited to this. 22 participating companies showcased their products and technologies in five major fields: energy equipment, building materials, modern agriculture, artificial intelligence, and textile and clothing. Customers had in-depth exchanges on equipment procurement, production capacity docking, technology introduction, and brand promotion, and some companies reached cooperation intentions on site.
Kung Fu outside the booth
The exhibition only lasts for three days, but the effort is put in beyond three days. Xinjiang enterprises also visited local industrial parks, key enterprises, and commodity markets to gain on-site understanding of Uzbekistan's industrial foundation, market demand, and investment policies, in order to accurately connect and grasp first-hand information for subsequent trade and investment projects.
At the enterprise economic and trade exchange conference held at the same time, representatives from both sides' business communities promoted cooperation in key industries and trade and investment facilitation. The attending representatives believe that Xinjiang, China and Uzbekistan are geographically close and have complementary industries. They can rely on exhibitions to continuously open up channels for enterprise docking and expand two-way trade and investment.

Liu Teng, Vice President of the Xinjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that this exhibition is a practical measure to promote Xinjiang enterprises to go global and explore the Central Asian market. The trade promotion agency will continue to play a bridging role, implement high-quality Xinjiang enterprise overseas brand activities, build more cross-border economic and trade cooperation platforms, help improve the quality and efficiency of import and export trade between the two sides, and promote local cooperation to move towards broader fields, deeper levels, and higher quality.Editor/Yang Meiling
