On October 18, 2026, the Xizang Shannan Sare Road River Crossing Bridge contracted by China Railway Construction Chengtong Company was successfully closed, and the main structure was fully completed, laying the foundation for the completion and opening to traffic.

The bridge has successfully closed

Sare Road River Crossing Bridge is the first municipal bridge in Shannan City that adopts cantilever cast-in-place beam technology. It spans the the Yarlung Zangbo River, with a total length of 1456 meters, including 1366 meters of super large bridge section. Nearly 400 builders have been fighting continuously for more than 8 months, completing the Dragon Union mission. Shannan Municipal Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau and Municipal Urban Investment Bureau sent congratulatory letters.

High altitude precision construction

The closure of plateau bridges requires temperature control as the key. The project adheres to low-temperature closure, symmetrical construction, real-time monitoring, and collects beam temperature, stress, and linearity data 72 hours in advance. Low hydration heat crack resistant concrete is used, and the processes of locking the skeleton, balancing, layered vibration, and intelligent temperature measurement are carried out in an orderly manner.

Builders overcome difficulties such as high altitude, crossing rivers, and changes in water levels during flood seasons, while technical, safety, and quality personnel are present throughout the process to dynamically adjust deviations. The height difference and axis deviation of the closure are both controlled within 10 millimeters, and the accuracy meets the requirements. The project leader stated that they will continue to implement full process control, promote the construction of bridge deck systems and ancillary projects, strictly adhere to safety and quality, and create high-quality projects.

Since the start of the labor competition, the project department has set the goal of joining forces, reversed the schedule and assigned responsibilities to each post, and seized the golden period of construction. The bridge is the largest municipal bridge in Shannan City. The construction team drew on the experience of high-altitude construction, guided by data, and accumulated experience for similar projects.

Give equal importance to ecology and benefit the people

The project passes through the the Yarlung Zangbo River National Scenic Area and ecological protection red line area. During the construction, water quality monitoring, vegetation restoration, water and soil conservation and other measures are implemented to protect the ecological environment. The project also employs more than 300 local residents, helps them increase their income nearby, and regularly carries out volunteer actions for coastal garbage collection.
