Recently, excavators and construction vehicles are ready to go on a 66 hectare idle land in the Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone in Vientiane, Laos. The key demonstration project of low-carbon cooperation between China and Laos, the 72 MW photovoltaic self supply power project in the Wanxiang Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone, has officially started construction. The Vientiane Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone is a national key cooperation demonstration zone between China and Laos. Currently, 183 enterprises from 10 countries including Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea have settled in. With the continuous growth of industrial clusters in the park, traditional power supply models are no longer suitable for development needs, and the power gap has become a key bottleneck restricting the development of the park.

Photovoltaic project landing park

The 72 MW photovoltaic self owned power project that has been implemented this time is invested, constructed, and operated by Saiseta Green Energy Photovoltaic Company, a joint venture between Yunnan Construction Investment Group Haitou Company and Lao Zhonglian Investment Company. The project will fully activate 66 hectares of idle land in the park, create a low-carbon, efficient, stable and reliable self owned power supply system, and comprehensively guarantee the electricity demand of enterprises entering the park. After the completion and operation of the project, it will significantly enhance the regional energy conservation and emission reduction capabilities, effectively drive local employment and income growth, assist Laos in cultivating new energy industries, and achieve a triple win-win situation of ecological, economic, and social benefits.

Relieve power supply and stabilize the power grid

The relevant person in charge of Laos Power Company stated that the implementation of the project can effectively alleviate the regional power supply pressure, stabilize the operation of the power grid, and is a vivid practice of China Laos clean energy cooperation and the joint construction of low-carbon demonstration zones. Laos Power Company will provide comprehensive service guarantees throughout the process, promote the early commissioning of projects, assist in the upgrading of Laos' energy industry, and deepen practical cooperation between China and Laos. The Vientiane Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone is a national key cooperation demonstration zone between China and Laos, as well as a core carrier for Laos' opening up to the outside world, industrial upgrading, and international production capacity cooperation. The construction of the project will further improve the park's new energy supporting system and enhance the park's power supply guarantee capability. Green momentum of China Laos cooperation

In recent years, Yunnan Construction Investment Group has actively implemented the responsibility of Chinese enterprises in the joint construction of the the Belt and Road, implemented benchmark projects in Laos such as Vientiane Saisita Comprehensive Development Zone and Vientiane Expressway, and deeply integrated into the opening up to the south and Laos' development. The relevant person in charge of the group introduced that the 72 MW photovoltaic project is a key project to improve the energy supporting facilities and promote green and low-carbon development in the Wanxiang Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone. The group will fully leverage the advantages of the entire industry chain, make every effort to promote the early production and effectiveness of the project, and focus on creating an energy cooperation demonstration project that benefits the people. The project not only assists Laos in its green energy transformation, but also injects green momentum into deepening practical cooperation between China and Laos, promoting the continuous deepening and implementation of the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Laos.Editor/Gao Xue
