From villages by Lake Victoria to industrial parks in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is undergoing a silent transformation. At the think tank summit in Cotonou, Benin, Deputy Minister of Finance of Tanzania, Lusvetula, emphasized the key point: stable electricity is the foundation of economic transformation. Relying on energy development, Tanzania is moving towards the Dira 2050 trillion dollar economic goal, empowering manufacturing upgrades with electricity and lighting up the industrial future.

At the 35th Council Meeting of the African Capacity Building Foundation and the African Think Tank Summit held in Cotonou, Benin, Laurent Lusvetula, Deputy Minister of Finance of Tanzania, spoke on behalf of the government, stating that stable and reliable electricity supply is the foundation of Tanzania's economic transformation, relying on energy development to drive industrial expansion, foreign investment introduction, and employment growth, and to help implement the Dira 2050 national long-term development plan.
Energy Empowerment Transformation Blueprint
Tanzania's Dira 2050 development vision sets goals to build a trillion dollar economy by 2050, with a per capita income of $7000. Lusvetula pointed out that stable and sufficient energy security is an important support for achieving this goal. The country has set a quantitative goal for power construction, aiming to achieve a total installed power generation capacity of over 8000 megawatts in the 2030-2031 fiscal year.

Setting Development Goals for Electricity
Lusvetula introduced that Tanzania continues to promote power projects and the construction of transmission and distribution grids, adapting to the electricity demand brought about by subsequent industrial and commercial development, new investment, and industrialization processes. Developing industry, expanding production capacity, and promoting economic growth cannot be achieved without stable electricity. Tanzania is promoting economic transformation and relying on energy construction to empower people's livelihoods and national development. Keywords: Tanzania Dira2050、 Electricity and energy

Electric Power Empowerment Manufacturing Upgrade
This power development plan is aligned with Tanzania's manufacturing revitalization plan. Manufacturing is one of the nine key transformation industries promoted by Dira 2050, and industrial upgrading, deep processing of mineral and agricultural products, and construction of industrial parks are all constrained by electricity conditions. Enhancing the installed capacity can unleash the development potential of manufacturing and mineral processing, optimize the business environment, and attract domestic and foreign industrial investment.Editor/Gong Ziwei
