Under the continuous promotion of clean energy layout in Uzbekistan, Fergana Oblast welcomes the visit of a delegation from China State Power Investment Corporation. Local governor Khairulo Bozorov sat around the table with Chinese representatives to discuss the possibility of developing a wind farm on this land. In recent years, Uzbekistan has continuously expanded its foreign energy cooperation. In addition to this wind power negotiation, the local government has also implemented multiple Chinese enterprise cooperation projects such as railway digital upgrading, energy storage, and oil and gas technology introduction. Green energy has become an important direction for bilateral cooperation. The wind power project is still in the preliminary evaluation stage, and the construction schedule and investment amount have not been announced to the public yet.

The talks focus on energy expansion

The authorities of Fergana State and a delegation of Chinese enterprises have conducted in-depth exchanges on the construction of potential wind farms, with core topics including increasing the scale of local renewable energy generation and introducing external investment for wind power projects. Local Governor Bozorov pointed out that the development of wind power can effectively cope with the continuously rising local electricity demand, save traditional fossil fuels, and reduce the environmental burden caused by energy production. Both parties did not disclose the construction milestones and estimated investment scale of the project to the public during this meeting. The overall project is still in the evaluation and judgment stage, and will rely on technical research and multi-party consultations to ultimately determine whether to proceed with the project.

China shares overseas practices

The Chinese delegation was led by the Deputy General Manager in charge of Central Asian business of State Power Investment Corporation, and the talks were chaired by Governor Bozolov of Fergana Oblast. The Chinese representative introduced to the Ukrainian side the practical experience of enterprises in implementing energy projects domestically and globally, and shared mature practices in construction quality control, power station operation efficiency maintenance, and energy facility safety assurance. Based on the practical achievements accumulated in China's new energy industry, Chinese enterprises continue to participate in energy construction in multiple Central Asian countries, providing feasible solutions for upgrading the local energy system.

Confirm the follow-up evaluation work

At the end of the meeting, both sides reached a consensus to organize technical experts from both sides to conduct on-site research and further survey the wind energy resource endowment in Fergana state, and to sort out the practical opportunities for project implementation. The results of the evaluation will serve as an important basis for advancing the next stage of the project, and both parties will jointly review specific measures to strengthen cooperation between the state government and Chinese enterprises.
