In October 2026, the Governor of Fergana Oblast in Uzbekistan held working talks with the Central Asia delegation of China Power Investment Corporation International. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on the preliminary promotion of local wind farm projects, and the regional wind power development process was officially launched.
Ferghana wind power development enters the practical stage
During the meeting, the Chinese team provided a detailed introduction to the construction experience of new energy projects worldwide, covering a complete technical system including engineering quality control, long-term operational efficiency, and full process safety management. The Fergana state has made it clear that the implementation of wind power projects will simultaneously alleviate the continuously rising electricity shortage in the region, reduce the environmental emission pressure caused by traditional fossil fuel combustion, and match the long-term growth demand for electricity for local agriculture and residents.

Both parties have confirmed that the next step will be to organize a technical team to conduct on-site surveys of wind resource endowment and comprehensive feasibility assessments of the project. The specific path of the project will be determined based on the actual measurement results. The total investment scale and construction schedule of the current project have not been disclosed to the public, and the overall evaluation is still in the early stage.
Chinese funded enterprises densely settle in the new energy track of sub regions
This is not the first time that Fergana State has introduced Chinese wind power projects. Several Chinese new energy companies have already established wind power related businesses in the local area, covering different tracks such as wind farm supply, regional wind power development, and integrated wind power and energy storage solutions. Multiple companies have entered the same region simultaneously, driven by the continuous expansion of renewable energy industry in Uzbekistan. Wind power and photovoltaics are currently the core directions for energy investment attraction. Keywords: New Energy News, Wind Power

The follow-up progress of the project still needs to complete multiple stages of work, such as long-term measurement of wind resources, verification of grid connection conditions, and sorting out of land approval paths. Any delay in progress in any stage may affect the pace of project implementation. The government of Fergana state has promised to provide supporting support for the full process of the project, combined with the full chain capabilities of Chinese enterprises in wind power manufacturing, engineering construction, and energy storage supporting fields. The progress of the site selection and evaluation report for the first wind power project in the future will become a core observation node for regional new energy development.Editor/Cheng Liting
