On August 30, the Wuxi Huishan section of the Yantai-xichang-yi railway successfully completed the preliminary test. It is reported that the project will start the construction of the Jingjiang-Jiangyin River Bridge at the end of 2020.

Yan-Tai-Xi-Chang-Yi Railway is located on the north-south central axis of Jiangsu Province. It starts from Yancheng Station of Xusu Huaiyan Railway in the north, passes through Taizhou, Wuxi and Changzhou, and ends at Yixing Station of Nanjing-Hangzhou Railway in the south. The total length of the route is about 292 kilometers, and the mileage is within Wuxi City. 93 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. According to the Huishan District Transportation Bureau, in Wuxi Huishan District, it is planned to pass through Yangshan Town and set up Wuxi West Station, and form a cross hub at Huishan Station with Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity to realize interconnection and efficient transfer of passenger flow.
The Yantaixi-Changyi Railway has been included in the "Three-year Rolling Promotion Plan for the Preliminary Work of Key Transportation Projects in the Province for 2020-2022" and is one of the projects striving to start construction in 2020. After the completion of the intercity railway, a new high-speed rail channel from northern Jiangsu and central Jiangsu to southern Jiangsu and Hangzhou will be formed, further enhancing the function of the urban railway Huishan station regional hub station, and effectively driving the economic development of the Xixi area.
