On December 31, 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission’s official website released the "Approval of the Third Phase of Ningbo Urban Rail Transit Construction Plan (2021-2026) by the National Development and Reform Commission", agreeing in principle to the Ningbo Urban Rail Transit The third phase construction plan.


According to the approval document, the "Ningbo Urban Rail Transit Phase III Construction Plan (2021-2026)" plans to construct the first phase of line 6, line 7, and the first phase of line 8, the west extension of line 1, and the extension of line 4 The total mileage is about 106.5 kilometers and the estimated total investment is 87.59 billion yuan. After the project is completed, an urban rail transit network with a total of 8 lines and a total mileage of 278.7 kilometers will be formed.

According to the "Ningbo Urban Rail Transit Phase III Construction Plan (2021-2026)"

  • The first phase of Line 6 starts at Huanggu Road Station in Gulin Town and ends at Xiaogang Honglian Station. The total length is 38.6 kilometers, of which the underground line is about 33.1 kilometers long and the elevated line is 5.5 kilometers long. The project investment is 31.53 billion yuan and the construction period is 5 years.

  • Line 7 starts at Yunlong Station in Dongqian Lake area and ends at Yufan Road Station in Yufan Group. The total length is 38.8 kilometers, all of which are underground lines. The project investment is 33.89 billion yuan and the construction period is 5 years.

  • The first phase of Line 8 starts at Jiangcun Station and ends at Jiangbei Avenue Station, with a total length of 22.6 kilometers and both underground lines. The project investment is 19.9 billion yuan and the construction period is 5 years.

  • The west extension of Line 1, which starts at Gaoqiao West Station of Line 1 and ends at Shilutou Station. It is 1.5 kilometers long and is an overhead line. The project investment is 520 million yuan and the construction period is 3.5 years.

  • The extension section of Line 4, the west extension section starts at Cicheng Station of Line 4 under construction, and ends at Cicheng West Station, with a total length of 2.5 kilometers, both of which are overhead lines; the east extension section starts at Dongqianhu Station of Line 4 under construction. Finally, the International Conference Center Station, 2.5 kilometers in length, is underground. The project investment is 1.75 billion yuan and the construction period is 3.5 years.


In addition, the "Planning" also mentioned that the west extension section of Line 1 and the extension section of Line 4 are consistent with the original line design standards, using B-type vehicles, with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour; Line 6, Line 7, Line 7, The first phase of Line 8 is composed of 6 B-type vehicles with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The "Planning" also revealed that Ningbo's rail transit network in 2035 consists of 10 lines with a total scale of 413.3 kilometers.

The west extension section of Line 1 and the extension section of Line 4 are consistent with the original design standards, using type B vehicles with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour; the first phase of line 6, line 7, and the first phase of line 8 use type B vehicles There are 6 vehicles in a formation with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour. In the planning and implementation stage, support the use of fully automatic operation technology and equipment, improve key technical support capabilities, and further optimize the main technical standards and operational organization plans such as vehicle models and speeds to reserve space for development.
